Karuppu trailer: The makers of the Suriya-starrer Karuppu, have unveiled the official trailer for the film. Directed by RJ Balaji, the upcoming film will open in theatres on May 14.
The trailer opens with a father and daughter duo, played by Indrans and Anagha Maya Ravi, who face multiple delays in the hearing of their case, partly due to the scheming lawyer Baby Kannan (RJ Balaji in an antagonist avatar). After losing their hope, and leaving it up to the gods, their case is taken up by Saravanan (Suriya), who is teased as an incarnate of Karuppusamy. Aiding him is Preethi (Trisha), a lawyer who has faced Baby Kannan before.
Karuppu is the first solo-directorial debut of RJ Balaji, who made his directorial debut with Mookuthi Amman (2020), which had NJ Saravanan as co-director.
The cast of the film includes Natty Natraj as a judge, Mansoor Ali Khan, George Maryan, Swasika, Sshivadha, and Supreeth Reddy, among others.
Karuppu will have music composed by Sai Abhyankkar, in his sophomore Tamil project, after Dude (2025). Pa Vijay, Vivek, Vishnu Edavan, Asal Kolaar, Adesh Krishna, and Arun Srinivasan have written lyrics for Karuppu.
The crew of the film includes cinematographer GK Vishnu, editor R Kalaivanan, production designer Arun Venjaramoodu, and stunt choreographers Anbariv and Vikram Mor.
Karuppu is produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabu under their Dream Warrior Pictures banner. Aravendaraj Baskaran is serving as the executive producer on the film.
