Earlier, we reported about Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy teaming up with Dhanush for the actor's 55th film in his career. Tentatively titled D55, the film also stars Mammootty and Sai Pallavi in important roles. This Saturday marks Sai Pallavi's birthday. Earlier in the day, the film's director Rajkumar and producer, Dhanush's Wunderbar Films banner, wished Sai on the special occasion.

Wunderbar Films shared a photograph of the actor and wrote, "Hearty birthday wishes to the super talented Sai Pallavi, from team D55. Shoot in progress!" On the other hand, Rajkumar Periasamy wrote, "Happy birthday, the magical Sai Pallavi. God bless you ma! Thank you. Can’t wait to unveil D55."

The upcoming film brings Rajkumar and Sai back together after 2024's Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. The 2024 film stars Sai as Indhu Rebecca Varghese, the spouse of Sivakarthikeyan's character, Major Mukund Varadarajan. While the actor received mixed response for her Malayalam accent in the Major Mukund biopic, her performance generally drew appreciation from critics.

Sai has lately been getting much praise from different film industries in India. Recently, actor Aamir Khan attended a special screening of her film Ek Din, co-starring his son Junaid Khan. The film brought Aamir to tears, and he later called Sai the best actress in India at the present moment. Backed by Aamir Khan's namesake productions banner, Ek Din marked Sai's debut in Hindi cinema. The film received mostly mixed reviews from critics, but they appreciated the actress's performance in it.

Coming back to D55, the makers of the film are yet to announce a release. They are expected to release it in theatres later this year.
