Filmmaker Prashanth Pandiyaraj, who made a breakthrough with the series Vilangu for Zee5, is joining the streamer once again for a new series, Warrant. But this time as an actor. Prashanth last made Soori-Aishwarya Lekshmi starrer Maaman. The new series will get its premiere on May 22.
Vignesh Natarajan is making his directorial debut with the series, which is produced by Sivan Pictures and S Studios. Prashanth has co-written the story and screenplay with Vignesh. Prashanth is joined by Balaji Sakthivel, Kaali Venkat, Kousalya, Arul Jothi, Arul Dass, Namritha MV, Chaya Devi, Vaiyapuri, Meena, and Hello Kandasamy.
Warrant boasts a technical team of cinematographer Ashok Kumar, editor R Ramar and music composer Sam CS.
The makers say Warrant delves into the overlooked world of routine police cases that slowly spiral into danger. It follows Koattai Karuppusamy, a second‑grade constable whose quiet humiliation and fear begin to shape how he enforces the law, raising unsettling questions about power, authority, and when justice starts to blur.
