In one of his promotional interviews for Ashakal Aayiram, actor Jayaram revealed that his next Tamil film will be directed by Pandiraaj, where he stars along with his long-time collaborator Urvashi. The makers of the film announced that it has been titled Parimala and Co.
The title was announced with a teaser, which shows the every-family comprising Jayaram, Urvashi, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, and Ananthika Sanilkumar jockingly bickering over how much to pay their housemaid. But at the end of the glimpse, we are shown that the family has committed a murder/murders. Pandiraaj last made Thalaivan Thalaivii, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen in the lead.
The film also stars Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Sandy, Santosh Sobhan, and Tamilkumaran, among others. The technical team of Parimala and Co comprises cinematographer George C Williams, music composer Foxn, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and stunt choreographer Kalai Kingson.
Known for their natural performances and comedic timing, Urvashi and Jayaram have acted in Malayalam films like Chakkikotha Chankaran (1989), Malootty (1990), Kadinjool Kalyanam (1991), Marupuram (1990), Mukha Chithram (1991), Koodikazhcha (1991), and Madhuchandralekha (2006). In Tamil, they starred in Kamal Haasan's Panchatanthiram (2002). In 2020, they joined hands to play a couple once again in the anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai, which was directly released on Prime Video.
