Happy Raj Movie Review: A dignified George Maryan stands tall in this imperfect but warm ride

The film follows Anandraj aka Happy Raj (GV Prakash), a young man weighed down by his father’s social stigma, who struggles with isolation and rejection in both life and love. Seeking a fresh start, he moves to Bengaluru, where he meets Kavya and finds a chance at happiness. As their relationship deepens, the prospect of marriage brings their contrasting worlds into conflict. What follows is a clash shaped by class differences, cultural gaps, and the search for dignity.

An excerpt from our CE review of the film reads, "All the genuine fun moments and the compelling comedy are packed one after another in the second half of Happy Raj, and Maria definitely salvages a film that could have crashlanded. He is heavily bolstered by the wonderful music of Justin Prabhakaran and a terrific George Maryan, who shines high in his best role since Kaithi. In fact, it feels nice to have an actor like George get wonderfully written scenes that make it clear that the film might be titled Happy Raj, but the protagonist is definitely Kaathamuthu."

Produced by Jayavardhanan and co-produced by Jaikanth Suresh, the film has music by Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography by Madhan Christopher, editing by Selva RK and art direction by Kumar Gangappan.
