

Actor-director Basil Joseph's first Tamil film as a lead, Raawadi, has wrapped filming, announced the makers. Though the upcoming film will be the actor's first full-fledged role in a Tamil film, he previously made a cameo appearance in Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi (2026).
Sharing a photo from the sets of Raawadi, the makers also announced that the film would release mid-2026.
The upcoming film, described as a comedy, is directed by Vignesh Vadivel in his debut. He has previously worked as an assistant to director Abbas A Rahmath in Fight Club (2023), and has also worked in several ad films.
Producing under the Seven Screen Studios banner is SS Lalit Kumar, father of one of Raawadi's lead, actor LK Akshay Kumar. Meanwhile, LK Vishnu Kumar is serving as a co-producer, with K Arun and Manikandan serving as executive producers.
Raawadi's cast also includes John Vijay, Sathyan, Jaffer Sadiq, Noble K James, Arunachaleswaran PA, Shariq Hassan, and Aishwarya Sharma, among others.
Music for Raawadi is composed by Jen Martin. The crew of the film also includes cinematographer Leon Britto, editor Barath Vikraman, and art director PS Hariharan.
Meanwhile, Basil will be seen alongside Tovino Thomas and Vineeth Srinivasan in Arun Anirudhan's Athiradi, which is set to release on May 14.
