

Ahead of the commencement of the Indian Premiere League 2026, the Chennai Super Kings held an event, titled Roar 2026, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai. The event saw the likes of AR Rahman, Sivakarthikeyan, Asal Kolaar, and Paal Dabba performing.
The event was put together by Badri Venkatesh, who made his feature directorial debut with Baana Kaathadi (2010). The film was Atharvaa's debut, and was the first Tamil film featuring Samantha in a lead role. Atharvaa's father, actor Murali, made his final film appearance in Baana Kaathadi (2010).
The film follows the life of Ramesh (Atharvaa), whose chance encounter with Priya (Samantha Ruth Prabhu), sparks a romance. Ramesh also gets entangled in a murder plot by a gangster, Ravi (Prasanna).
Badri Venkatesh is also the recipient for the National Award for Best Short Fiction Film, for Vidiyalai Nokki, in 1996. This made him the first ever winner in the category for a Tamil film.
The director has also made Semma Botha Aagathey (2018) and Plan Panni Pannanum (2021). He is currently working on his next film. Details about the cast, crew, and plot are yet to be revealed.
