Director Raju Murugan's film My Lord recently had its digital premiere after its theatrical release. The film did not do particularly well at the box office and received mixed reviews from critics upon its initial theatrical release in February this year. However, it has been receiving some appreciation after its digital debut. Besides common viewers, film industry personalities have also taken notice of the film, starring M Sasikumar and Chaithra Achar in the lead roles.

The latest to commend the film is director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Taking to X, the filmmaker wrote, "My Lord was an effortless watch and a well-made one." The director congratulated Raju Murugan, Sasikumar, Chaithra Achar, the film's composer Sean Rolden and the rest of the team behind it for its "success and reviews". Raju Murugan expressed gratitude to Lokesh for his positive appreciation of the film.

It follows a marginalised couple who, after discovering that they have been declared dead in government records, fight to establish the fact that they are alive. It becomes a bigger struggle for them when one of them is spotted as a potential organ donor for a minister, which exposes a dark network of administrative exploitation.

In our My Lord movie review, Avinash Ramachandra wrote, "Despite the heavy themes of trafficking, donor list manipulation, and corruption flowing through every vein of our society, Raju Murugan treats the film with levity that reminds us of his very own Joker. Just like that National Award-winning film, here too, even when laughing at the predicament of Muthuchirpi and the people surrounding him, not once are we allowed to forget that we are having front-row seats to public and systemic apathy."

The film also stars Asha Sharath, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, Gopi Nainar, and Vasumithra, among others. It is now streaming on Prime Video.
