A whole year and more after the theatrical release of Aadhi Pinisetty's Sabdham, the film has finally gotten an OTT premiere. Helmed by Arivazhagan, Lakshmi Menon and Simran were also a part of the film's cast.
Sabdham, which hit theatres on February 28, 2025, stars Aadhi as a paranormal investigator and Lakshmi Menon as a doctor who delves into a chilling sequence of events. Upon release, the film opened to underwhelming reviews.
Sabdham is now available to stream on ZEE5. The film revolves around Rooban, a paranormal investigator, who serves as a bridge between the living and the dead, helping restless souls fulfil their final wishes and find peace. But when he encounters a vengeful spirit causing havoc. The film also features Laila, Redin Kingsley, MS Bhaskar, Rajiv Menon, Vivek Prasanna, and TSR Srinivasan.
An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "Sabdham, for all its technical brilliance, makes the cardinal sin of the horror genre by failing to deliver a single thrilling moment. Moreover, the desperation is palpable with red herring jump scares, and it is almost always something predictable like a prank or a video game pause screen. Such attempts reveal the filmmaker’s lack of confidence in the story, and that is unfortunately transmitted to the audience as well. The story clearly does not deserve such disrespect, as it is ripe with several interesting ideas."
The technical team consists of Thaman composing music, lyrics written by Vivek, Arun Bathmanabhan as the director of photography, Sabu Joseph VJ doing the editing, Manoj Kumar as the art director, and Stunner Sam handling the stunt department.
