Thaai Kizhavi, the comedy drama starring Radikaa Sarathkumar, has crossed Rs 75 crores in the global box office, after 25 days in theatres. The film is directed by Sivakumar Murugesan and produced by Sivakarthikeyan under his namesake banner.
According to Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 76.54 crores after being in theatres for 24 days alone. The film collected Rs 66.19 crores (gross) in India.
Thaai Kizhavi follows a family who scrambles to find a hidden treasure after the matriarch gets afflicted by an illness. The film also features Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, Muthukumar, Raichal Rabecca, among others, in its cast.
Sivakarthikeyan, who has produced the film under his namesake banner, is set to collaborate with director Sivakumar again for Seyon, which will be backed by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International.
CE's review of the film reads, "The reason why Thaai Kizhavi transcends from being a slice-of-life rural comedy to a massy commercial comic caper is the towering presence of Radikaa."
