Anishma Anilkumar had back-to-back releases in Tamil cinema in the recent past, featuring in Sirai with Vikram Prabhu and LK Akshay Kumar and Youth with director-actor Ken Karunas. While Sirai became a successful venture at the box office recently, Youth has opened in theatres to positive reviews from both audiences and critics alike.
Earlier this Saturday, Anishma Anilkumar took to social media and shared a note of gratitude to Ken for Youth. "Thank you for giving me Kanagavalli, Ken," she stated, referring to her character in the movie. She added, "I honestly can’t put into words how happy I felt seeing you win. Watching your dreams finally come true is so beautiful...and you truly deserve every bit of it. Achieving all this at such a young age is incredible."
For your information, Ken Karunas is 24 years old, making him one of the youngest actor-directors in Tamil cinema.
Ken made his debut as an actor with director Mano's 2013 film Ragalaipuram, starring his father Karunas and Angana Roy, among others. Since then, he appeared in supporting roles in films such as Azhagu Kutti Chellam, written and directed by Charles, and Vetri Maaran's Asuran, opposite Dhanush. However, he made his first appearance as a lead actor only in Youth.
The film tells the story of a young man (Ken) and his romantic adventures. As his school life nears its completion, the teenager finds out what it means to fall in love.
According to the box office tracker Sacnilk, the film has earned a gross collection of 8.17 crore over the first two days of its release. However, he movie faces stiff competition from Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
