The cast and crew of the upcoming film Youth, including lead actor-director Ken Karunaas, recently attended a promotional event for it. Ken spoke about the film and expressed his gratitude to its producer Karuppiah at the event. He also made a joke about his experience as a college student during the COVID period.
When the event host asked Ken about his college crush, the actor-director said that he attended college during COVID. Then, Ken went on to narrate an incident where he thought his teacher was attractive based on her voice, only to later find that she was much older than he thought. "There is no sighting online, with a half-sized photograph and only the teacher's voice. One time, I thought they will be switching off the video, only if they are explaining something very important, they will switch on. So one of our teachers had a super voice," the actor said.
At this point, the host asked Ken Karunaas about the name of the teacher, to which he replied saying, "My future would be gone if I reveal it."
He went on to add sarcastically, "In the end, her voice was very beautiful, so I thought she was a very youthful teacher. When I passed out of college, I realised that she was 65 years old. Even I told her, 'Thank you for explaining well madam, your voice is beautiful,' and she thanked me. At last, she was 65 years old, a friend of my grandmother."
Ken's comments have started to draw some criticism online.
Coming back to Youth, the film marks his first role as a lead actor. Also starring Sirai fame Anishma Anilkumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Devadarshini, among others, the film is slated for a March 19 release in theatres.
