Actor Vijay Sethupathi is known for his many roles, including his antagonist in Pushkar–Gayathri's 2017 film Vikram Vedha. The actor recently talked about his role and the hero-like entry shot for his character in the film.

Speaking to Galatta Plus, Vijay said that it is his favourite entry shot for any of his characters from films. However, the actor did not find it a good idea to have such an elaborate sequence solely for his character at the time of production. When Pushkar–Gayathri asked for his opinion after the editing process, Vijay expressed some reservations about it. The actor said that he found it a bit too long. "I told them, 'It is this long? It seems quite over the top. Please cut it down. I am no big hero, and this appears more in the range of Vijay sir or Ajith sir,'" Vijay Sethupathi said.

The actor said that he doubted whether the Vikram Vedha entry scene would entertain the audience because of its length, but he eventually gave into Pushkar–Gayathri's conviction. The director duo told the actor that the film has the content and the mood to justify the shot. The actor also commended composer Sam CS and cinematographer PS Vinod's work. All of these technicians, alongside Vijay, elevated the entry scene to a mythical level, with echoes of Kevin Spacey's entry shot in director David Fincher's 1997 film Se7en, although the situations differ in the films.

Coming back to Vijay Sethupathi, the actor was last seen in the silent film Gandhi Talks, which has dropped on ZEE5 after its recent theatrical release. His upcoming films include a cameo in Jailer 2, co-starring Rajinikanth, Train with Mysskin, Arasan with Vetri Maaran and Silambarasan TR, and Slum Dog with director Puri Jagannadh and Tabu.
