Vels Film International, the producer of Dhanush's upcoming film with writer-director Vignesh Raja, titled Kara, dropped the first song from it earlier this Saturday. Titled 'Vaaya Ey Karasaami,' the Kara first single is an intense religious song. It is sung by Arunraja Kamaraj, Anthony Daasan, Satyan, and VM Mahalingam based on Arunraja's own lyrics and GV Prakash's composition. The lyric video also gives a glimpse into the raw and rustic world of the film, reminiscent of Dhanush's own Asuran (2019).
As reported earlier, writer-director Vignesh Raja's film also stars Mamitha Baiju in the female lead. The cast includes KS Ravikumar, Karunas, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, MS Baskar, and Sreeja Ravi, among others.
The film is directed by Vignesh Raja from a screenplay he has penned alongside his Por Thozhil co-writer Alfred Prakash. It is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner alongside Kushmitha Ganesh. On the technical front, the film also has cinematography by Theni Eswar, editing by Sreejith Sarang, art direction by Mayapandi, and stunt direction by Dinesh Kasi.
The makers are yet to reveal plot specifics. That said, there is a visual in the song of police officers running through a field, juxtaposed with Dhanush's character wielding a gun and a machete in his hands. This explains why audiences have already started to compare the film with Asuran. There is also a shot of Dhanush's character behind bars in the first song from the movie. The recently released tagline for the film reads, "Sometimes staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive."
