A few weeks after production on the upcoming romantic drama, 29, wrapped, the makers of the film announced that dubbing for the film has begun. The film is directed by Ratna Kumar, who has previously directed Meiyadha Maan and Gulu Gulu among other films.
29 is produced by Lokesh Kanagaraj, through his G Squad banner and by Kaarthikeyan S under the Stone Bench banner. The latter is the production house established by director Karthik Subburaj, and was behind Ratna Kumar's directorial debut Meiyadha Maan.
The upcoming film stars Vidhu, who was seen in Kartik Subburaj's Jigarthanda DoubleX and Retro, alongside Preethi Asrani as the lead. The cast of 29 also features Master Mahendran, Avinash, Shenaz Fathima, Premkumar, among others.
Sean Roldan is composing music for the film, with lyrics written by Uma Devi and Bakkiyam Shankar. The crew of the film also consists of Madhesh Manickam as the director of photography, RS Sathish Kumar as the editor, Shanmugaraja as the art director, and Don Ashok as the stunt choreographer.
