

Santhosh Prathap, who was last seen in the Telugu film Champion (2025), is coming back to Tamil cinema, two years after Aranmanai 4 with the upcoming fantasy film Maragadha Malai. Starring Maargan-fame Deepshikha as the female lead, Maragadha Malai is written and directed by debutant filmmaker S Lathha. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on April 3.
According to the makers, the story is set in the 18th century where gang of robbers attempts to steal a treasure that belongs to a zamindar. To protect the treasure from them, the zamindar sends his wife and child to a Kali temple located in the forest. During this time, they all get separated. The story follows their efforts to get reunited.
Besides Santhosh Prathap and Deepshikha, the film also stars Thambi Ramaiah and Jagan in supporting roles. Maragadha Malai's world and its elements have been majorly crafted using CG and is billed as an out-and-out entertainer for family audiences.
On the technical team, Maragadha Malai has music by LV Muthu Ganesh, cinematography by PG Muthaiyah and editing by Baiju Don Bosco and art direction by P Shanmugam. Lyrics for the film has been written by Pa Vijay and Ko Sesha. Director S Lathha has also contributed for the lyrics.
