Looks like the makers of Dhanush's upcoming film Om have been closely watching pop culture discourses on social media. After a barrage of posts calling new-age composer Sai Abhyankkar, as isai (music), Rajkumar Periasamy has given a subtle nod to all of it, by officially introducing Sai as 'iSai Abhyankkar' in a blink-and-you-miss it moment in the fiery title promo of Dhanush's upcoming film, which was unveiled on Thursday.
Eagle-eyed fans quickly spotted the detail in the video and began widely sharing screenshots across social media, sparking excitement and discussion. Ever since his debut in Pradeep Ranganathan's Dude, fans of the young composer have popularised the phrase, "There is no isai without Sai." With this latest nod, audiences are now celebrating a meme-turned-reality moment, debating whether it was a deliberate addition for fans to discover or a sincere tribute to the composer.
Beyond his singles, Sai's monumental growth has been established by his film songs in Balti, and later in his Tamil debut in Dude and the latest hit Karuppu. Besides Om, Sai also has the much-anticipated Allu Arjun-Atlee's Raaka in his kitty.
In Om, Sai Pallavi is uniting with Dhanush for the second time after Maari 2 (2018) and the director after their hit collaboration in Amaran. Sreeleela will be working on her sophomore project in Tamil after the recent Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Parasakthi. Meanwhile, Mammootty is making his comeback to Tamil cinema seven years after director Ram's critically-acclaimed drama Peranbu (2019). Indrans, who recently witnessed a hit outing with Karuppu, has also joined the team.
The film is produced by Dhanush himself under the Wunderbar Films banner and Shraddha Agrawal of R Take Studios. Besides Sai Abhyankkar, other members of the technical team include cinematographer Ezhil Arasu, editor Kalaivanan, choreographer Sandy, and stunt director Yannick Ben.
Om hits theatres on October 16 this year.
