At the title launch of the Dhanush starrer Om earlier this Thursday, its director Rajkumar Periasamy shared some interesting details about the film. He said that the film's production is 65 per cent complete, and that its character teasers and trailer will be unveiled in the upcoming days. "Om is not just a divine name, but it also has a lot of layers to it. We will reveal it in the coming days," Rajkumar shared.
He also dropped some more updates regarding the film, including the confirmation of Indrans being a part of it and Mammootty playing a character named Karthikeyan in it.
Rajkumar praised his film's lead actor, saying, "Being a multi-faceted performer like Dhanush is tough. If you underplay your role, it will be called a 'half-hearted effort,' and if you put your everything into the film, it will be called 'over-acting'. Dhanush sir has impressively balanced the artistic and commercial sensibilities really well." Further sharing the details about the project, the filmmaker said that Om is a fictional film with a lot of true events as its base.
Om marks Rajkumar's second directorial venture, and his first film starring Dhanush. Notably, it also stars Sai Pallavi, who earlier worked with Rajkumar on Amaran, and Sreeleela.
It is being produced by Dhanush himself under the Wunderbar Films banner, alongside Shraddha Agrawal of R Take Studios. Its technical team includes cinematographer Ezhil Arasu, composer Sai Abhyankkar, editor Kalaivanan, stunt director Yannick Ben, and choreographer Sandy. The film is slated for an October 16 release in theatres. Dhanush also has an APL Abdul Kalam biopic and a film based on legendary music director Ilaiyaraaja in the pipeline.
