Ahead of the title reveal of Dhanush's D55, the makers have unveiled a short promotional video, which seems to have provided an insight into the film's story. The upcoming film, which is written and directed by Amaran-fame Rajkumar Periyasamy, will mark Mammootty's return to Tamil cinema after Peranbu (2018).
The new promo is an animated montage which features frames that is filled with burning vehicles, people taking part in protest, Rupee notes raining from the sky, and infographics of the stock market, among others. While an official synopsis is yet to be announced, the new promo hints at the upcoming multi-starrer being an action drama.
Dhanush also reunites with Sai Pallavi for the upcoming film after Maari 2 (2018). Sreeleela who latest Tamil film was Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi, is on board the upcoming film.
Sai Abhyankkar will compose music for D55. The crew of the film also include director of photography Ezhil and editor Kalaivanan. Dhanush is backing D55 under his Wunderbar Films banner alongside the R Take Studios banner.
