Writer-director Sasi's film Nooru Saami, starring Swasika and Vijay Antony in key roles, is slated for a June 19 release in theatres. Ahead of the film's release, it has received high praise from H Vinoth, who is known for titles such as Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Nerkonda Paarvai (2019), Valimai (2022), Thunivu (2023), and the upcoming Vijay starrer Jana Nayagan.
Vijay Antony's namesake production banner, which backs the film, shared a note from H Vinoth. It read, "I just watched the movie Nooru Sami. The movie was really, very very good and one of the best films of the year. A must watch film in theatres! Superb! Fantastic!"
In response, the producer, Vijay Antony Film Corporation, wrote, "Special and powerful words from the acclaimed director H Vinoth sir. Your kind words inspire the entire Nooru Sami team!"
The film tells the story of a woman who is outcast by members of her community for her actions, which they consider disgraceful and shameful. It also stars Ajay Dhishan, Lijomol Jose, Karunas, Sakthi, and Kavya Anil in key supporting roles. Its cast includes Balaji Sakthivel, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Padini Kumar, Jenson Dhivakar, Bucks, Vinodhini, Thamarai, Kodangi Vadivelu, Muthualagi, Saratha, Sabitha Roy, Abinaya, Moorthy, Subramania Siva.
Nooru Sami brings Vijay Antony back together with writer-director Sasi after their collaboration on 2016's Pichaikkaaran. On the technical front, the film has cinematography by SB Darshan Kirlosh, music by Balaji Sriram, editing by Harish Yuvaraj, and art direction by V Sasi Kumar.
Coming back to H Vinoth, the filmmaker is still anticipating the release of Jana Nayagan, which marks CM Vijay's final film. Recently, Vinoth said that he cannot do anything about the delay in its release and that he is not feeling courageous enough to speak about it. "Even if I had the courage, you would not publish the video of me telling the truth," he claimed.
