

Previously, we reported that Raghava Lawrence was set to make an announcement regarding his political entry on Thursday. The actor-director said that he would address rumours about his political career on June 11, after he completes filming for Benz.
For the unversed, reports have been circulating that the actor has joined CM Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and that he is set to contest in the Trichy East by-election. CM Vijay contested in both Trichy East and Perambur and resigned from the former after winning both.
On Wednesday, following the demise of veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja, Raghava Lawrence gave an update on his announcement. "Hi everyone, I had earlier informed you that I would be making an important life decision announcement on Thursday, the 11th, at 9:30 AM. The industry is currently mourning the passing of Bharathiraja sir. This loss feels deeply personal, like losing a member of the family. Out of respect for Bharathiraja sir and his immense contribution to cinema, I have decided to postpone my announcement. I will now be making the announcement on Friday, the 12th, at 10:00 AM," he wrote in an X post.
Earlier today, Raghava Lawrence condoled the demise of the filmmaker-actor and wrote on X, "My heart is heavy upon hearing the demise of our legendary director, Bharathiraja Sir. My deepest condolences to his family. His legacy will live on in every storyteller who believes that simple lives can create extraordinary cinema. His contributions to Tamil cinema will continue to inspire generations. May his soul rest in peace." Bharathiraja passed away on Wednesday at the age of 85 after suffering from age-related ailments.
On the work front, Raghava Lawrence, last seen in Jigarthanda DoubleX, has a bevy of projects in the pipeline, including Adhigaram, Bullet, Kaala Bhairava, Hunter and Kanchana 4. He is also directing the latter most.
