Earlier this Tuesday, we reported about Sai Pallavi congratulating her Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy, music composer GV Prakash, and editor R Kalaivanan for their wins at the 72nd National Film Awards. Sai Pallavi reserved special praise for her director in her appreciation post, where she said that she felt 'proud and happy for' Rajkumar.
In his response, Rajkumar wrote, "Thank you so much ma, for this heartfelt wish and your soul stirring performance in Amaran. You, the actor with gravitas and a pure heart, brought a great advantage to all of us! And Yes celebrate it as ur own as it’s yours too!"
For the unversed, Amaran stars Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan and Sai Pallavi as his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese.
In addition to Sivakarthikeyan, the film earned much appreciation for Sai Pallavi's performance. While Sai received some criticism for her delivery of the Malayalam dialogues in the film, as Indhu hails from Kerala, the audience largely appreciated her performance.
In an interview with IBC Mangai, Sai Pallavi noted that she observed certain features and traits in Indhu Rebecca Varghese that made her realise, "she's the real deal". The actor also shared that she experienced difficulty answering questions regarding her own life as she felt like she had not fully stepped out of the character's perspective yet.
Amaran hit theatres in October 2024 and went on to gross more than 300 crore from theatres worldwide. Reportedly, it became the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024, second only to the Vijay starrer The Greatest of All Time (GOAT). The multiple wins at the National Film Awards added a feature in the cap of the team behind the film, following its critical acclaim and blockbuster status.
Besides, Sai Pallavi is part of Rajkumar and Kalaivanan's upcoming film Om, co-starring Dhanush and Mammootty.
