Actor Munishkanth, who recently entertained the audience with a memorable comic role in Thaai Kizhavi, opposite Radikaa Sarathkumar, is gearing up for his next film. Earlier this Thursday, actor-composer Vijay Antony released a poster offering a first look at the film, titled Jumaka and also starring Balaji Sakthivel in an important role. Described as a comedy-fantasy film, Jumaka is written and directed by debutant Ashok Ram.
Releasing the poster on social media, Vijay Antony conveyed his best wishes to the whole team behind the film. According to a press note, the actor-music composer recently watched some scenes from the film and expressed his appreciation for director Ashok Ram and producer Jayakumar for their work on it.
The plot revolves around an old camera, which serves as a key thematic element of the film. It also stars Redin Kingsley, Vivek Prasanna, Kalki Raja, Jensan Diwakar, Jayakumar, Ananya S Rao, and Vinoth Munna.
Jumaka brings Munishkanth and Balaji Sakthivel back together after collaborations on films such as the Karthi starrer Sardar (2022) and the Vijay Antony-Swasika starrer Nooru Saami (2026).
Production on the upcoming film, which began in March this year, has been completed, with shooting taking place at a large set in Chennai. The film is backed by Jayakumar and Preethy under the banner of JP Cinemas, which marks its maiden production venture with it. JP Cinemas promises "magic, fun, and fantasy" with the film.
On the technical front, the film has cinematographer Sridhar Subramani, composer Anand Kashinath, editor NB Srikanth, and production designer V Shanmugaraja.
The makers are yet to announce further details about the film, including its plot specifics and release date.
