

Director Susi Ganeshan, known for his hits in the early 2000s such as Five Star, Thiruttu Payale and Kanthaswamy, is back to Tamil cinema with a new film titled Orenda.
Prior to releasing the title, the makers had revealed a promo a few days ago where many individuals in and around Chennai were asked if they knew the meaning of "Orenda", leading to curiosity and some funny answers. It was then, on Wednesday, it was unveiled that director Susi Ganeshan would helm Orenda, which marks his return to Tamil cinema, nine years after Thiruttu Payale 2.
Some behind-the-scenes shots were showcased in the new promo which keeps most details including plot and cast under wraps. From the video, the upcoming film looks to be an action entertainer. The makers also shared that 85 per cent of the shoot had been completed for the film.
Susi Ganeshan debuted with Five Star in 2002 which marked the debut of Prasanna and Kanika. In the same year, he made Virumbukiren with Prashanth and Sneha. In 2006, he directed Thiruttu Payale, starring Jeevan and Sonia Agarwal. The film was a box office success. All these three films fetched him Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
He last made Thiruttu Payale 2 in 2017 with Bobby Simha, Prasanna and Amala Paul. The film was remade in Kannada in 2021 as 100 and in Hindi in 2024 as Ghuspaithiya.
