Earlier this year, we had reported that actor Arun Vijay will be joining hands with filmmaker M Muthiah for his next. While details regarding the movie were kept under wraps for many months, Arun Vijay has finally spilled the beans on the project by sharing a post on his X handle.
The actor posted a photo of his intense workout for the movie, which marks the 38th film in his career and said, "All pumped up for the ongoing power packed action schedule for AV38." In his hashtags, he mentioned that he will be shooting in Thirunelveli, although he did not reveal when it would begin. Going by his post, it looks like the upcoming movie will be an intense actioner. Plot details and further cast announcements for the film are awaited.
Muthaiya, who made his debut with Kutti Puli in 2013, is known for films like Devarattam, Maruthu and Pulikkuthi Pandi. His last directorial was Arulnithi's Rambo, which had a direct OTT premiere on Sun NXT last year and opened to underwhelming reviews. This film will mark the director's first collaboration with Arun Vijay.
Arun Vijay had three releases last year. He started the year with the Bala directorial Vanangaan, which opened in theatres for Pongal to unfavourable reviews. Further, he was seen in the Dhanush directorial, Idli Kadai, as the antagonist. He ended the year with the release of Kris Thirukumaran's Retta Thala, which was released for Christmas.
In the pipeline, Arun Vijay also has Vaa Deal, Borrderr, and Agni Siragugal awaiting release.
