The makers of the GD Naidu biopic released the trailer for the film at a special event in Coimbatore, the inventor's birthplace, earlier this Saturday. Written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and starring R Madhavan in the titular role, GDN tells the story of the inventor's life and career in British India. The GDN trailer shows the British's efforts to take down a younger GD Naidu for his actions against the government, such as tax evasion and other activities. At one point in the GDN trailer, a British officer can be seen saying, "Naidu is doing business with Germany and the Nazis against the interests of the Crown. This is treason."

Elsewhere, there is a suggestion about all his inventions being destroyed in protest against the government. And elsewhere, we see the titular character daring a British officer, saying, "You will soon understand which land you have occupied and whom you are talking to."

Soon, a piece of text comes onscreen that reads, "Feared by the British.. Forgotten by his countrymen." The tagline for the film reads, "Before the technology boom, there was one man who dared to reinvent the future. Witness the life, the struggles, and the genius of GD Naidu."

The GDN trailer also shows an older version of the character, with Madhavan being virtually unrecognisable. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, Vinay Rai, Thambi Ramaiah, Nandalal, TeeJay Arunasalam, Sheela, Karunakaran, Muralidaran, Aditi Balan, Mohan Raman, Kaniha, Ramesh Tilak, Carl Andrew Harte, and Richard Bhakti Klein.

Besides starring in it, R Madhavan is also credited for the film's screenplay, alongside director Krishnakumar Ramakumar of Oho Enthan Baby fame.

GDN is produced by Varghese Moolan through his namesake banner alongside Vijay Moolan, in association with Madhavan and his wife Sarita's Tricolour Films banner. The film brings Varghese Moolan Pictures and Tricolour Films back together after their collaboration on Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which is the Nambi Narayanan biopic starring Madhavan himself in the titular role.

Production on the film has been wrapped. The film has music by Govind Vasantha, cinematography by Aravind Kamalanathan, editing by Bijith Bala, production design by Cyril Kuruvilla, and costume design by Jishad Shamsudeen. It is slated for a July 17 release in theatres. Meanwhile, here is a link to the GDN trailer:
