Actor Vishnu Vishal is popular across the country mainly for his role in the mystery thriller Ratsasan. The 2018 thriller, where Vishnu's cop character goes in search of a serial killer, won plenty of appreciation from the critics and the audience. His performance in the film also got him much acclaim, even though the actor told CE in a recent interview that he could not land many films afterwards and remained jobless for a while after the thriller.
Interestingly, Vishnu made another surprising revelation in a recent interview. Speaking to Gingermedia Entertainments, the actor said that his real name is just Vishal. The actor's revelation brought a surprise reaction from his Gatta Kusthi co-star Aishwarya Lekshmi. She looked at him and asked, "You have a real name?"
He explained that he changed his name to Vishnu in order to distinguish himself from actor Vishal. He also said that he became very good friends Vishal afterwards.
Interestingly, he brought Vishal back to his name, alongside Vishnu, because he was missing his real name. "In a lot of places where I have played cricket, they know me as Vishal. I was missing my old name, my real name, so I made it Vishnu Vishal. It is very simple," the actor said.
The actor participated in Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) league matches before he quit cricket due to a leg injury and pursued a career in acting. Interestingly, he also revealed that he made friends by playing cricket. "I have a lot of friends because of cricket. Sreesanth here is very close. I also have cricketer friends in Andhra and the North," the actor shared.
He will next be seen in Gatta Kusthi 2, directed by Chella Ayyavu, which is slated for a July 03 release in theatres.
