Following the flak she received for her comments about Vijay fans in a recent interview, Parasakthi director Sudha Kongara has once again expressed her admiration for the superstar. Speaking to India Today, Sudha said that she is "probably the biggest fan of Vijay" out there. The filmmaker added that even if she watches her film "2000 times," she would go and attend a Vijay film's screening on the first show of release day. "Even Mr Vijay is aware of it because I have met him and I have told him the same," she said about her admiration for the actor. Sudha Kongara revealed that she was supposed to do a film with Vijay in the past but that it did not materialise it for "various reasons".
Jana Nayagan was initially slated to hit theatres on January 09, a day before Sudha's Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela, and Atharvaa. However, it got entangled in a censorship situation, casting uncertainty over its release. "I wanted that film to release so badly (at the same time)," Sudha said about the Vijay starrer, directed by H Vinoth.
Meanwhile, despite the mixed reviews, Parasakthi continues its successful box office performance. The film has grossed 1.32 crore so far this Sunday from theatres in India, taking its domestic box office tally to 47.42 crore, according to the industry tracker Sacnilk data. The tracker also revealed that the film grossed 54.55 crore from theatres worldwide over the first eight days of its release.
