Vaa Vaathiyaar makers scotch rumours about the film's further delay
Actor Karthi's upcoming film Vaa Vaathiyaar faced some roadblocks in its release on a couple of occasions. Vaa Vaathiyaar, alongside other films, eyed the Pongal holiday, following the delay in Vijay's Jana Nayagan censorship procedures.
Accordingly, the makers of the Nalan Kumarasamy helmed film announced it will release on January 14. However, rumours surfaced on social media that the film will again face a delay.
In a recent press release, the upcoming film's makers categorically rejected all such rumours. The note read, "We are now happy to announce that Vaa Vaathiyaar will release worldwide on January 14, as a Pongal festive release, a time that perfectly reflects togetherness, joy, and celebration."
Wishing the other films that are releasing alongside, the note thanked the cast, crew, fans, exhibitors, distributors, theatre owners, and channel and media partners.
Vaa Vaathiyaar marks the first collaboration between Karthi and Nalan, and the two with Krithi Shetty, who plays the female lead. Though Krithi has starred in the Tamil-Telugu film The Warriorr, starring Ram Pothineni and directed by Lingusamy, she makes a proper Tamil debut with Vaa Vaathiyaar. Billed as an action-comedy entertainer, Vaa Vaathiyaar marks the first collaboration between Karthi and Nalan. The film also stars Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, Anandaraj, Karunakaran, GM Sundar, Shilpa Manjunath, and Ramesh Thilak in pivotal roles.
Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja of the Studio Green banner, Vaa Vaathiyaar's technical crew comprises cinematographer George C Williams, editor Vetre Krishnan, music composer Santhosh Narayanan, and art director DRK Kiran.
