The Tamil film industry has been sharing their sentiments about the postponement of Jana Nayagan, which marks the final film in Vijay's illustrious career. After actors such as Silambarasan TR and Ravi Mohan expressing their support for the H Vinoth directorial amid uncertainty over its release, Jiiva also threw his weight behind his Nanban co-star Vijay. Taking to X, Jiiva wrote, "When the wait gets longer, the impact gets bigger. Always beside you, today and every day Thalapathy Vijay na. You are truly our Janangalin Nayagan. We are coming - Delayed but not defeated!"
Jiiva and Vijay are regarded as good friends within the film fraternity. The actors' bond reportedly became stronger following their collaboration on director Shankar's 3 Idiots remake Nanban. Vijay addresses Jiiva as his 'Nanban' (friend). Once, the actor invited Vijay to attend his film Mugamoodi's audio launch and Vijay gracefully accepted the invitation. Jiiva has also appeared briefly in the 'Paattu Onnu' song in Vijay's 2014 film Jilla, also starring Mohanlal. In fact, some netizens also shared clips of their appearance together in the Jilla song after Jiiva expressed his solidarity with Vijay.
Coming back to Jana Nayagan, the Madras High Court is expected to deliver its verdict on the film's censorship issue later today. Shortly after, the film's producer, Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions, is expected to announce the new release date for the film as well.
The discourse among a section of the general public has been that the film's delay is part of a political ploy against Vijay by the right-wing, considering the fact that he has expressed his criticism of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reportedly, the Congress has also been supporting Vijay in the Jana Nayagan issue.
