Earlier, we reported about Vijay-H Vinoth's Jana Nayagan's release getting postponed due to a lack of censorship clearance. Even Sivakarthikeyan-Sudha Kongara's film Parasakthi is yet to receive a censor certificate. According to reports, the Censor Board suggested multiple cuts to the film, including scenes portraying protests against Hindi imposition. Reportedly, the board suggests tweaks to the scenes or their complete removal, and Sudha Kongara approached its revising committee, raising objections against the suggestion thereof. Reports claim that the filmmaker told the committee that the cuts would have a major negative effect on the film's story, making it weaker in terms of its historical relevance.

The reports are coming in at a time when the film's makers are yet to offer an official update about the film's censorship clearance. Even amid all the speculation about it, Aakash Baskaran's banner Dawn Pictures put out a video capturing moments from the Parasakthi team's Kochi promotions and mentioned January 10 as the film's release date. "A whirlwind of promotions ahead of January 10," Dawn Pictures wrote.

The film stars Sreeleela in her Tamil debut, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Chetan in important roles. The other day, Sivakarthikeyan also revealed that his "friend" Basil Joseph has a cameo role in the film.
