As the actor-politician Vijay's fans are left high and dry due to the postponement of his last film, Jana Nayagan, in a consoling note, production company Seven Screen Studio-owned theatre Seven Screen's Cinemas announced the re-release of the actor's Master and Leo on January 9.
With both films helmed by filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master has Vijay play an alcoholic John Durairaj or JD, who, in turn of events, faces off against Bhavani (Vijay Sethupathi), who is forcing under-age convicts to commit crimes under the influence of drugs. Meanwhile, Leo has Vijay play the titular role, living in hiding in the guise of Parthiban, far away from his unenviable past. But no matter how far he goes, his past still chases him, forcing him to rip his mask off.
Fans, who were expecting to accord a warm send-off to their matinee idol on January 9, need to wait for some more time, and in the meantime, the re-releases will have them occupied.
In the legal battle between CBFC and Jana Nayagan producer Venkat K Narayana of the KVN Productions, the Madras HC will deliver its verdict on Friday.
