

The grand audio launch of director Manoj N S’s upcoming film Moon Walk turned into a double celebration on Sunday, as the team marked Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman’s birthday on stage, in front of thousands of fans.
The event, held on a lavish scale, saw the ace musician cut a birthday cake along with the cast and crew, drawing loud cheers from a crowd of over 10,000 attendees. Rahman, fondly known as the Mozart of Madras, has sung all five songs in the film and is also making his acting debut with Moon Walk.
The evening unfolded as a full-fledged musical spectacle, with AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva taking centre stage. Excitement soared when Rahman made his first appearance and went on to render all five tracks from Moon Walk live, turning the audio launch into an electrifying concert-like experience.
Prabhu Deva followed this with a special 10-minute dance tribute to Rahman, performing to all five songs from the film. He was joined on stage by his co-stars Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese, Arjun Asokan, Satz, and choreographer Sekhar, adding to the celebratory energy of the night.
The high point came when Prabhu Deva invited Rahman back on stage and got him to groove to the evergreen hit ‘Mukkala Mukkabala’, much to the delight of the audience. The moment seamlessly led into the birthday cake-cutting ceremony, making it a memorable highlight of the launch.
Moon Walk is directed and produced by Manoj, who is the founder and CEO of Behindwoods. The director is also producing the film with Divya Manoj and Praveen Elak.
The cast of Moon Walk also includes AR Rahman, Aju Varghese, Satz, Arjun Ashokan, Nishma Chengappa, Singampuli, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, TSR Srinivasan, Ramar, Dr Santhosh Jacob, Redin Kingsley, Sushmitha Nayak, Rajendran, Deepa Shankar, and Ramkumar Natarajan.
Moon Walk has cinematography by Anoop V Shylaja and editing by Raymond Derrick Crasta, as well as choreography by Sekhar VJ, Piyush Chazia, and Sandy. The film is set for a theatrical release in summer 2026.
