At the Moon Walk audio launch on Sunday, actor and comedian Yogi Babu revealed that he is set to essay 16 characters in the upcoming Prabhu Deva film. The film marks Prabhu Deva's reunion with AR Rahman after 25 years.
Speaking about why he chose the film, Yogi Babu said at the red carpet, "Manoj sir first narrated the story to me at my house. I initially thought he would explain just one character, but the film had a total of 16 characters. Each of them was beautifully written, which gave me no reason to say no to Manoj sir. All the characters were relatable, so nothing felt particularly challenging."
Further, Yogi Babu was full of praise for the director while also being grateful for the opportunity to star in Moon Walk. "Manoj sir’s smile is my biggest takeaway from the sets of Moon Walk, as he always carried a warm and cheerful presence. Both Rahman sir and Prabhu Deva sir are prodigies who have collaborated since their early days in the film industry. It is an honour to have had the opportunity to work with them. I am also grateful to be part of a film with music composed by AR Rahman sir."
Moon Walk is directed and produced by Manoj, who is the founder and CEO of Behindwoods. The director is also producing the film with Divya Manoj and Praveen Elak. Earlier, the makers revealed two characters that Yogi Babu is set to be seen in: Kavarimaan Narayanan and Aattukkaal Azhagu Rasa, respectively.
The cast of Moon Walk also includes AR Rahman, Aju Varghese, Satz, Arjun Ashokan, Nishma Chengappa, Singampuli, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, TSR Srinivasan, Ramar, Dr Santhosh Jacob, Redin Kingsley, Sushmitha Nayak, Rajendran, Deepa Shankar, and Ramkumar Natarajan.
Moon Walk has cinematography by Anoop V Shylaja and editing by Raymond Derrick Crasta, as well as choreography by Sekhar VJ, Piyush Chazia, and Sandy. The film is set for a theatrical release in summer 2026.
