The makers of Idhayam Murali have released a new look at the film, on the occasion of New Year's day. The film, starring Atharvaa in the lead, is written, produced, and directed by Aakash Baskaran, in his directorial debut. Aakash is producing the film under his Dawn Pictures banner.
The film's title is a nod to Atharvaa's father, Murali, who starred in the 1991 film Idhayam. Early in 2025, Idhayam Murali, was announced to be in the pipeline for Atharvaa, with the makers releasing a short teaser, which hinted at romance across continents being the heart of the story. The new look which showcases Atharvaa and Kayadu Lohar at a railway station, adds travel to the mix.
Music composer Thaman is making his return to acting with Idhayam Murali. He is also composing music for the film. Natty, Preity Mukundhan, Pragya, Angeline, and Yashashree, Sudhakar, Dravid, Niharika NM.
The crew of the film includes Manoj Paramahamsa and CH Sai as the directors of photography, Pradeep E Ragav as the editor, MR Karthik Rajkumar as the production designer, and Peter Hein as the stunt choreographer.
Atharvaa will next be seen in Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi, which is also backed by Aakash Baskaran and Dawn Pictures. The film, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, and Sreeleela, is releasing theatrically on January 10.
