Vignesh Raja, who is directing Dhanush's next, shared an update on the film's production, on social media. Tentatively titled, D54, the film is director Vignesh's sophomore directorial venture.
Sharing a photo from the editing room, with editor Sreejith Sarang, Vignesh wrote, "Stepping into 2026. One cut at a time." Shooting on the film began in July 2025. Filming on D54, completed a week back.
The film also stars Mamitha Baiju, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, KS Ravikumar, Prithvi and Pandiarajan, among others. While a release date hasn't been announced yet, the film is set to release early in 2026.
The crew of the film also consists of GV Prakash Kumar as the music composer and Theni Eswar as the cinematographer. Ishari K Ganesh is producing the film under his Vels Films International banner.
Vignesh made his directorial debut with the crime thriller, Por Thozhil (2023). Starring Ashok Selvan, R Sarath Kumar, and Nikhila Vimal, the film follows a hunt for a serial killer.
