We had earlier reported that actor Vetri, who was last seen in Muthal Pakkam (2025), will be headlining Black Gold, which is directed by Dheeran Arunkumar.
The latest update from the makers is that the film has wrapped production.
Produced by M Moorthy of the MM Studios banner, Black Gold director Dheeran Arunkumar has previously directed Theerpugal Virkappadum. Durai Annamalai will serve as an executive producer for the film.
Usually, coal is called Black Gold due to its demand. Though the makers are tight-lipped about the film's plot, the title suggests that the story has something to do with coal smuggling.
The film also stars Priyalaya, Livingston, Thulasi, Abhirami Venkatachalam, A Venkatesh and Ramar.
Vetri, who made his debut with 8 Thottakkal (2017), also starred in Jiivi (2019), C/O Kaadhal (2021), Jiivi 2 (2022), Aalan (2024) and Rajaputhiran (2025). He also has Iravu, directed by Jagadeesan Subu, who has previously made Bakrid, in the pipeline.
