With the release slated for February 27, the makers of the upcoming film Thaai Kizhavi, helmed by debutant Sivakumar Murugesan, have unveiled the script to screen video of the film on Wednesday.
The video glimpse featured scenes and the director explaining what went behind them. Also, the first-time filmmaker said he wanted to showcase the look of Radikaa Sarathkumar, who is playing the titular character, with a thandatti (a traditional Tamil cubicle earring). Pointing to the dwindling practice, he said he wanted to document it as the survey his team took across some South TN villages, only around 100-150 women were wearing this earring.
Produced by Sudhan Sundaram's Passion Studios and Sivakarthikeyan's SK Productions, the teaser of Thaai Kizhavi has Radikaa play an elderly, foul-mouthed usurer who gives a hard time to all the inhabitants of her village.
In addition to Radikaa, Thaai Kizhavi also stars Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Munishkanth, Bala Saravanan, Ilavarasu, Muthukumar, George Maryan, and Raichal Rabecca. Radikaa was last seen in Revolver Rita, headlined by Keerthy Suresh.
On the technical front, the film features music by Nivas K Prasanna, cinematography by Vivek Vijayakumar, and editing by San Lokesh.
