Yesterday, composer-singer AR Rahman completed his concert in Chennai, where he collaborated with multiple artists. After the conclusion of The Wonderment Tour, Rahman posted a video where he takes in the excitement of the rapturous audience at the venue. At the same time, the singer revealed that he is taking a small break from social media.
Saying that he felt 'touched' by the emotional reaction of the audience for his concert, which brought him back to the stage in Chennai after a long time, Rahman wrote, "Before I take a sabbatical for the next 40 days from social media.. this is a nice way to sign off."
More than 30,000 fans attended the live musical experience, where Rahman performed some of the most popular compositions from his career. Joining him on stage were his son AR Ameen, Srinivas, Chinmayi Sripaada, Adithya RK, and Rakshita Suresh.
Dhanush also joined Rahman to perform multiple hit songs, including a rendition of their track 'Adangaatha Asuran' from 2024's Raayan. The Dhanush appearance came without any prior notice, surprising the audience. On the other hand, Ameen performed 'Bheegi Bheegi,' a rendition of his recently released music video featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur.
A day before the AR Rahman concert in Chennai, Chinmayi reminisced about her debut film Kannathil Muthamittal, with music composed by the Oscar-winning music director. "24 years to the day since Kannathil Muthamittal. It is surreal I am performing later today with Rahman Sir, here at Chennai. After all these years and the everything. Thank you," Chinmayi wrote.
Notably, Chinmayi enjoyed plenty of attention after her rendition of 'Muththa Mazhai' at the audio launch of director Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan's Thug Life, which has music by Rahman.
On the film front, Rahman is awaiting the release of multiple projects, including Moon Walk, which reunites him with Prabhu Deva after a long time, Ramayana, and Peddi, among others.
