

The success of the latest crime drama Sirai, starring Vikram Prabhu and LK Akshay Kumar is continuing even after its OTT release. As the film completed 50 successful days in theatres, LK Akshay Kumar celebrated the milestone by cutting a cake on the sets of his next film, Raawadi. For the unversed, Seven Screen Studios is the banner backing both the films.
Sirai marked the directorial debut of Suresh Rajakumari who was a former associate of Vetri Maaran. The film has a story from Taanakkaran fame Tamizh. Made at a modest budget of Rs 3 crore, the film's revenue increased manifold since its release on December 25 last year, thanks to positive word-of-mouth reviews and critical ratings. Towards the end of its theatrical run, the film minted over Rs 31 crore globally and became a commercially successful venture at the box office.
His upcoming film Raawadi, directed by Vignesh Vadivel, stars noted Malayalam actor-director in the lead role. It also includes John Vijay, Sathyan, Jaffer Sadiq, Noble K James, Arunachaleswaran PA, Shariq Hassan, and Aishwarya Sharma, among others.
Jen Martin, who has composed music for Bloody Beggar (2024) and Kiss (2025), is part of Raawadi. Cinematographer Leon Britto, editor Barath Vikraman, and art director PS Hariharan are also part of the film's crew. It is being simultaneously made in Tamil and Malayalam with the same title.
Basil's first appearance in a Tamil film was his cameo appearance in Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi. He played the role of an Army Major in the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer. He will next be seen alongside Tovino Thomas and Vineeth Srinivasan in debutant Arun Anirudhan's Athiradi.
