Sasikumar recently opened up about performing romantic scenes in the upcoming film, My Lord. The upcoming film, which is directed by Raju Muruguan, also stars Chaithra J Achar and Guru Somasundaram.
In an interview with CE, Sasikumar said he prefers not to interfere with a director’s ideology, stressing that such ideas are a filmmaker’s vision. However, the actor admitted that, "I needed some time and preparation for the romantic scenes. I am okay with his political ideals, and representing them."
He explains that he strongly believes in respecting the creative space of directors by practising non-interference. He noted that with respect to the ideology of My Lord, he didn’t suggest any changes as he trusts and complies with director Raju Murugan’s perspective.
The actor, however, shared that he buds in during the romantic portions of his film. Known for his grounded and realistic performances, Sasikumar revealed that when he feels awkward about acting in romantic scenes, he would request the director to redact it. In places where romance is crucial to the story, he asks the director to spare him more time to build a rapport with the actress in order to make such scenes feel authentic and more suited to his personality on screen.
My Lord, starring Sasikumar, Chaithra J Achar and Guru Somasundaram is scheduled to release on Feb 13.
