

Actor Suriya's hit 2002 film Mounam Pesiyadhe, marking the directorial debut of Ameer, is all set for a Valentine's Day re-release on February 13.
The film that stars Trisha in her debut as the female lead follows Goutham (Suriya), who is scornful towards the idea of love and people in love. Goutham believes that love is a waste of time. However, Goutham, who never thought of himself as a fool who would fall in love, encounters romance. The film also stars Nandaa and Neha Pendse, with Laila appearing in a cameo role.
Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, who had his maiden collaboration with Suriya in Poovellam Kettuppar (1999), reunited with the actor in Mounam Pesiyadhe. The album's success resulted in repeated collaborations between Ameer and Yuvan.
Ameer went on to direct more films, Raam (2005), Paruthiveeran (2007) and Aadhi Bhagavan (2013). Yuvan has worked in several other Suriya films such as Perazhagan (2004), Anjaan (2014), Massu Engira Masilamani (2015) and NGK (2019).
Mounam Pesiyadhe's technical team includes cinematographer Ramji, art director Rajeevan, and editor Suresh Urs.
