We had reported last year that actor Priyanka Mohan will headline the upcoming Netflix film Made in Korea, directed by Ra Karthik. The makers on Tuesday dropped the teaser of the film as part of the unveiling of Netflix's 2026 Indian slate.
The over-one-minute glimpse has Priyanka Mohan's character Shenba nursing her childhood dream of moving to South Korea. Unlike the fascination among youngsters for the country due to the influence of K-drama and K-pop, the protagonist of Made in Korea started having the desire ever since playing the role of a Tamil princess marrying a Korean king in the medieval age. However, once Shenba lands in South Korea, she faces untoward events, which make her rethink her choice. Whether or not she leaves South Korea for home again forms the rest of the story of Made in Korea.
Priyanka Mohan is set to star alongside Park Hye-Jin in Made In Korea. Speaking about the film, she said, as per a press note, “What drew me to this project was the strength and uniqueness of its narrative — it’s a compelling story that immediately captured my interest. As someone who has always appreciated Korean dramas, the opportunity to be part of an Indo-Korean collaboration was both exciting and meaningful. I found a deep personal connection with the character I portray, which made the decision even more natural. When Karthik sir narrated the script, I knew right then that I wanted to be a part of it. Being associated with a Netflix original only adds to the pride I feel in this journey.”
Srinidhi Sagar of Rise East Entertainment is the producer of the film. Rishikanth, Baek Si-hoon, Jaehyun Jang, Kim So-ri, Ha Ram, and Kim Rok are also a part of the film’s cast. On the technical front, the film will feature editing by Anthony, music composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab and cinematography by Prasanna Kumar. A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers.
