Actor Abdool Lee, who was recently seen in Modha Rathiri, opened up about his beginnings with the sketch comedy channel, Temple Monkeys.
In an interview with CE, speaking about joining hands with Vijay Varadharaj, Abdool said, "I left my job because of him. When I was called to work on a sketch video for the first time with him, I somehow made the time to shoot it, because I had to handle issues at my office. That video ended becoming viral, before viral became part of pop culture here. He made a light remark about how I was very lucky, and even called me to shoot for every video."
Abdool mentions that while he could make it for some shoots and could not for others, Vijay Varadharaj would just off-handedly tell him to quit his job and start working here. "He might have meant it as a joke, but something clicked and I resigned my job. He was shocked and was enquring my reasons for quitting, even mentioning that surviving could be harder. I, in turn, was shocked to hear this from him, but went forward together, anyway."
Abdool mentions that he eventually got over his initial questions after being reaffirmed by observing the life of people in Temple Monkeys already living this life.
Written and directed by Raja Karuppasamy, the cast of Modha Rathiri includes Rishikanth, Anishma Anilkumar, Chetan, Bagavathi Perumal, with the director himself.
