Actors Jayaram and Simran are set to team up as leads for a new romantic film directed by SY Gauthamraj. He had previously helmed Jyotika-starrer Raatchasi and Arulnithi-starrer Kazhuvethi Moorkan. The film's pooja ceremony took place on Sunday. This is the first time Jayaram and Simran are starring together as leads, with their previous collaboration being Kamal Haasan-KS Ravikumar's Panchathanthiram (2002).
Jayaram and Simran will be starring with Ponvel of the Vaazhai fame, alongside Devika Sathish and Bhagavathi Perumal (Bucks). K Vijay Pandi of White Carpet Films and Shanjan G of Redacted Studios are producing the film, with actor Arya's The Show People banner presenting it.
Billed as a rom-com entertainer, the makers described the film as a story that revolves around relationships between the Gen Z generation and the 90s generation, and the interesting incidents that these interactions create.
On the technical front, the untitled film has cinematography by Deepak, music by Achu Rajamani, editing by Arul E Siddharth, and art direction by Mahendran.
Jayaram has had three releases this year: Kara, Parimala and Co, and GDN. Meanwhile, Simran, who was last seen opposite Sasikumar in Tourist Family (2025), will next star alongside Rajinikanth in Dharman.
