Resort has clocked more than 100 million watch hours, thus becoming JioHotstar’s first-ever original that achieved the milestone. Streaming on the platform since March 2026, it has gained a loyal fan base thanks to its relatable characters, weekly rollout, and narrative that is emotionally engaging, said JioHotstar in a press note.
The note further added, "Resort has also resonated strongly with audiences across multiple languages, reaffirming that authentic, regional stories with universal emotional themes can travel beyond their home markets."
While 53 per cent of the viewing time is for Resort in Tamil, the rest has come for its Hindi (22 per cent), Telugu (15 per cent), and Malayalam and Kannada (10 percent).
Talking about it, Krishnan Kutty, the streamer's Head for Entertainment Business, South Cluster, shared, "Resort crossing 100 million watch hours is a significant milestone for JioHotstar and a strong validation of our Long Running Shows strategy. Over the past year, we have been investing in long-running originals with the belief that consistent, culturally rooted stories can build deeper audience affinity and sustained engagement over time. Resort has demonstrated the power of this approach through relatable characters, emotionally authentic storytelling and sustained viewer engagement."
Krishnan Kutty added, "Equally encouraging is the fact that nearly half of the show’s watch time has come from audiences outside Tamil, reaffirming our belief that authentic storytelling can transcend languages and resonate with audiences across the country. As we continue to expand our slate of Long Running Shows across the South, we remain committed to creating originals that combine strong local relevance with national appeal."
Helmed by Praveen Bennet as well as starring Vijay Kumar Rajendran and Thalaivasal Vijay, it follows a housekeeper who wants to become a chef even as he navigates his relationships, ambitions, and challenges at the RR Resort.
