Actor Ashok Selvan's next film Anbil Avan, in which he stars opposite Preity Mukhundhan, was launched in an event with a title teaser on Wednesday. Speaking at the event, he said people kept asking him when he is working on his next, but he believed that "good things take time".
He said, "It's been 2.5 years since Blue Star was released. People, including my parents, kept asking me when I am signing my next film. The thing is, I did not forcibly push myself to do a film." He added that he did not feel the anxiety to sign some project or another to stay in the news. "I don't believe that I have to mark my attendance every Friday. A good film, a good story takes time. That was how Anbil Avan happened."
He also said that in the gap between Blue Star and Anbil Avan, he witnessed a lot of changes in the industry in terms of how people are receiving screenplays. "I can guarantee something: people believe in my choice of script selections. Anbil Avan will definitely satisfy them."
Anbil Avan is directed by debutant R Kaarthikeyan, who has also written the screenplay along with Vignesh Raja and Ashok Selvan. Meanwhile, Ashameera Aiyappan has worked on the film's additional screenplay. The title teaser hints at the film surrounding a newly married couple, whose love for each other is tested by extraordinary circumstances.
The cast of Anbil Avan also includes Sabumon Abdusamad, Kadirbalu, Maha Delhi Ganesh, among others.
Govind Vasantha is composing music for Anbil Avan, which will feature lyrics by the director himself. The crew of the film also includes cinematographer Gowtham Rajendran, editor Selva RK, art director Manikandan Srinivasan, and action choreographer Peter Hein.
Ashok Selvan and Abinaya Selvam are producing Anbil Avan under their Happy High Pictures banner. Meanwhile, K Karunamoorthy is producing under the Ayngaran International banner. Apart from Anbil Avan, Ashok Selvan is also awaiting the release of his upcoming untitled film with Nimisha Sajayan.
Preity, meanwhile, is enjoying back-to-back successes with Blast, in which she starred opposite Arjun and Abhirami, and Idhayam Murali, opposite Atharvaa.
