The proposed collaboration between actor Vishnuu Vishal and filmmaker Arunraja Kamaraj appears to have run into troubled waters, with a dispute reportedly emerging over the film’s production and financial aspects. While reports of Vishnu Vishal planning to lodge a complaint against the director have been doing the rounds, the latest information suggests that the two sides are currently attempting to resolve the matter.
According to a report by Valai Pechu, an agreement had been signed for the yet-to-be-titled project, and a considerable portion of the director’s remuneration had allegedly been paid. However, the film reportedly did not go on floors as expected, leaving Vishnuu Vishal waiting for several months.
The report further claimed that multiple revisions to the script contributed to an increase in the film’s projected budget. Vishnuu Vishal is said to have waited for nearly 10 months for the project to progress, eventually leading to the reported dispute.
ETimes, meanwhile, reported a source confirming that there is indeed a disagreement between the two parties, while stressing that efforts are underway to settle the issue. “Yes, there is a dispute between both sides. However, both parties are currently trying to find the best possible way to resolve the issue and are looking for a suitable solution,” the source said.
The nature of the disagreement is reportedly linked to both creative and production-related concerns, including the film’s delay and the escalation in its proposed budget. It is not clear at this point whether the matter will eventually be taken before the Tamil Film Producers Council, as both parties are said to be exploring an amicable solution.
Vishnuu Vishal and Arunraja Kamaraj had earlier been set to collaborate on a large-scale sports drama with family elements. Though details about the project had been kept under wraps, earlier reports indicated that the story could revolve around a sport such as boxing or feature a bouncer-related backdrop. The film had generated interest given Vishnuu Vishal’s association with sports-based subjects and Arunraja Kamaraj’s previous directorial outings.
For now, however, the film’s status remains uncertain. Whether the reported differences can be resolved and the project eventually goes into production is something to watch out for. Vishnuu Vishal was last seen in Gatta Kusthi 2, which emerged as a commercial success. The actor is yet to officially announce the details of his next project.
