At the Magudam audio launch, Vishal commented upon Dhanush's speculated political entry. Vishal's comments came after his own recent speech hinting at political aspirations. After actor Vijay quit cinema and became the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, many actors have dropped hints about their political aspirations, including Raghava Lawrence.
For the unversed, Dhanush hinted at a career in politics with a fiery speech about governance and social service as a blood-donation drive organised by his fan club recently. Speculations of his political entry have been rife since the fan club conducted an event to unveil an official flag for the actor-director.
Speaking about Dhanush, Vishal said, "Everybody is contemplating Dhanush's political entry. If his intention is to come to politics, I wish him all the very best. It is an open platform. Anybody can come with the intention of doing good for the people. My heartiest wishes to Dhanush for his political career, if he has such aspirations, as social service is not easy. He's a superb actor, director and technician, and if he chooses politics, I can't help but wonder about missing out on another such talented performer."
Just weeks ago, Vishal said at an event, "As an actor in the film industry for these many years, I have the goodwill to do something in return for all of you. Going forward, my path will not be an ordinary one. I will only tread on a straightforward path, no shortcuts. I will take that route and ensure support for you in all aspects." While the actor didn't confirm his entry, the tone of his speech has led to speculations about the same.
On the work front, Vishal is gearing up for his directorial debut, Magudam. He also headlines the film in three roles, alongside Dushara Vijayan and Anjali. Jayaprakash, John Vijay, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai, Vj Jhansi, Padam Kumar, Sabhumon and others star in supporting roles in the film.
Pon Parthiban is writing the dialogues for the film, along with Anandh Kumaresan writing the dialogues in Tamil and Rajesh A Moorthy writing the dialogues in Telugu. The crew of the film includes NB Srikanth as the editor, and G Durairaj as the art director. Late director-producer RB Choudary's Super Good Films banner is backing the film. The film is gearing up for release on August 14.
