On Monday, we reported that noted music composer AR Rahman's son, ARR Ameen, was involved in a car accident near the Kathipara flyover in Guindy, Chennai. According to reports, the car carrying Ameen and his friend was travelling from Koyambedu when it collided with another vehicle.
On Tuesday, AR Rahman's daughter Khatija Rahman and ARR Ameen, issued clarity on what actually transpired, and who was driving when the car met with the accident. Khatija, additionally, asked the media to thoroughly check facts before publishing news reports about the accident.
First, ARR Ameen reshared Khatija's Instagram story on his own before penning his own clarification on the accident. "Ameen was on his way to the airport, seated in the passenger seat while his friend was driving," the musician revealed, adding that the collision happened after a driver in front of them moved despite a red signal.
AR Ameen, who also clarified the same also expressed his gratitude to God. "By God's grace, everyone involved is safe and okay. All praise to the Almighty (EPI) for His grace and protection over all of us," he wrote.
He particularly thanked his father, his cousin, musician GV Prakash, and his grandmother for their prayers. "I also believe my grandma's, dad's and GV Anna's prayers and values continue to guide and protect me. I will always carry their teachings with me and strive to live by everything they've instilled in me," the note read.
On the work front, AR Ameen last worked on the Tamil dub of 'Chikiri Chikiri' from Ram Charan's Peddi and also sang an independent single 'Bheegi Bheegi' with Jasleen Royal featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur.
Meanwhile, AR Rahman had three releases this year - the festival film Gandhi Talks which released directly on Zee5, Ram Charan's Peddi and Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga. Up next, he has a list of much-anticipated films including Ramayana: Part 1 and 2, and Batwara 1947, Moon Walk and an Dhanush-Mari Selvaraj's untitled project.
